Holding A Party

The 'How to' for a Harrison's Cake Time Party

Thank you for thinking about holding a Harrison's Cake Time Party. Here's how to get started.

What: It's a Cake Time Party and you can choose what sort of party it is, it could be a Morning Coffee Party, Afternoon Tea, Cocktails and Cake, Cake Sale - whatever suits you - as long as there are plenty of cakes!

When: Any date between 1st - 8th November -  or if you can't fit it in then whenever it suits you.

Where: anywhere you like, at home, at work, at school or in a local community hall.  If it is a public event, don't forget to let us know the details and we will add it to our events news here and on facebook and also tweet about it.

Who: as many friends, neighbours, colleagues that you think you can cope with - the more the merrier!

Why: to raise funds to help find a cure for Duchenne, the largest fatal genetic disease that affects children (mostly boys). Currently there is no cure, and just £200 will fund a research fellow for one day to help find that cure.

Cost: what you feel is right, or have a box for donations. Don't be afraid to ask, you're giving your friends a lovely time and people love to help a good cause.

Extras:  Don't forget you could add a bit of extra fun to the party by having a few games or competions if you fancy, let your imagination run wild!

Please: send Jenni an email on info@harrisonsfund.com so that she knows where all our Cake Time Parties are being held.  We'd love to see just how much of the UK and beyond we can cover and if it is a public event we will help you get the word out about it too.

Recipe Ideas: Use your own favourite cake ideas and we will be regularly adding recipes to the list on this blog as well. Or why not think about buying Harrison's own Cake Time Recipe Book with lots of brilliant recipes from family, friends and celebrities like Joanne Wheatley, Holly Bell, Sarah Beeny (great brownies recipe!), Shelina Permaloo, Dhruv Baker, Greg Wallace and Christine Hamilton to name a few!  It also includes Harrison's Favourite Chocolate Cake, very delicious.

If you would rather pay over your donations by a cheque, please make it payable to Harrison's Fund and send it to PO Box 377, Cobham, Surrey KT11 9AE, together with your name & address so that we can thank you properly. Please do not send cash through the post.
